As you know, over the past year or so, there have been a number of changes to the lineup of Phoenix Calling.
Bassist, Jason Howard, has now decided to drop music and focus on playing for the Leicester Falcons American football team - as they have just gained promotion to the premier league. We would like to thank Jason for the years of hard work and dedication that he brought to the band and wish him every success.
So ‘Phoenix Calling’ is no more, but we are very excited to announce that the final piece of the jigsaw is now in place ... new name, new look, new sound... it’s been a massive journey to find the right mix but with founding member Dom Greenwoods song writing and guitar work, complimented by the exceptional Luke Reid and former Damaged drummer Luke Green creating amazing chemistry & timing with Ben ‘the fist’ Knowles (formerly of The First) on Bass. Add classically trained Callum Waterfield (Jessie’s Ghost) to the mix on lead vocal and we firmly believe that rather than dwelling on the past we move forward in a big way with something very special ...
We can’t wait to share the journey with fans old & new.
We are delighted to announce the new lineup at Phoenix Calling. Callum Von Wolfe Waterfield joins as lead vocalist and Luke Reid as lead guitar. Touring drummer Luke Green has also stepped up as a full time member.
The band played their first live gig as special guests for BRIGADE and SLAVES TO GRAVITY at the O2 Islington on 26th May and went down a storm. More shows are currently being booked so keep an eye on the 'Shows' page for details.
FIGHT is the first single from the new lineup and the band are busy writing their third album which is due for release in Spring 2019.
Massive shout out to Johnny Doom for playing 'Fight' on last nights show.
The single has received huge airplay around the world and the feedback about the new sound has been incredible. The band is working hard on more new tunes and we have some exciting announcements to come over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
Phoenix Calling have just been into the TV studio to record an interview with Johnny Doom for his AMP'D TV show. It will be on air on Freeview Channel 8, Virgin 159 and www.BigCentre.TV on Wednesday 10th February at 10pm.
Hot on the heels of the video being playlisted on Kerrang! TV, Hold On To Glory had its debut play on the Johnny Doom show on Wednesday 27th January. Introducing the track, Johnny simply said "This is brilliant!".
We understand that Johnny is giving it multiple plays over the next few weeks. His show goes out weeknights from 7pm - 10pm
We are delighted to announce that the video for 'Hold On To Glory' has been playlisted on Kerrang! TV. This video is hot on the heels of 'Traces' and 'Wasted Life' - both of which were also playlisted.
Hold On To Glory features boxing legend Dave 'Boy' Green and Tommy Martin who has a Commonwealth Light-Welterweight title bout on January 30th at the Copper Box Arena in London. The bout is being shown live on Sky Sports and we'd like to wish Tommy the best of luck!
So, Phoenix Calling have had an awesome year in 2015 and it looks set to continue into 2016. The band is hitting the ground running with the release of its next single 'Hold on to Glory' from the highly acclaimed 'Forget Your Ghosts' album.
The video was shot at a famous boxing gym and features a current champion boxer and an absolute legend from a few years ago. Click here for a teaser - the full video will be released soon!
